Meet our staff
Diabetes Tasmania prides itself on having qualified, professional and friendly staff to service the needs of not only the organisation but also all Tasmanians living with diabetes, from our health professionals to our office and administration staff - we are here for you.
We have 34 staff members across the state, from the south, to the north and across the north west. We service the whole of Tasmania, providing education, services, programs and awareness.
Caroline Wells, Chief Executive Officer
Caroline has held the role of CEO with Diabetes Tasmania since 2005. Coming from a nursing background originally, she has a strong interest in preventative health, particularly related to chronic disease, and is a passionate advocate for people affected by diabetes and raising the awareness of the seriousness and impact of diabetes. In her time away from the office, Caroline enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, adores her cat Gus and spending special time with her husband, grandchildren and friends.
Leanne Clark, Operations Manager
Leanne started with Diabetes Tasmania in 2001. She is responsible for the day to day operations of the organisation, finance and making sure everything is running as it should. Leanne has led one of our fundraising charity challenges and when not at work enjoys spending time with family and friends at her East Coast shack, getting out and about in nature bush walking and winding down the day with a glass of wine around the camp fire.
Laura Scott, Clinical Manager - South, APD
Laura is one of our Accredited Practising Dietitians and Clinical Managers based in Hobart, she has been with Diabetes Tasmania since 2014. She travels around Southern Tasmania helping people to enjoy food as much as she does.
